"Constructive Criticism"

submission: A Whole New World

Before I pick on you I want to say you picked one of the best Disney songs to sing. I also can tell that both you and your friend are very talented singers. So the question is: What went wrong? This is a remix you made using Garageband. Voice synthesizing can be fun and you'll have a tendency to get carried away. You were a little trigger happy. When altering your voice you have to do it very tastefully. If you do it too much you'll overkill and sound like Microsoft Sam at "Open Mic Night".

Also as an unecessary plus would be to have background music- REMEMBER where you are though- all background music would have to be an orginal remix made by you. Also it might have helped your score if the song was performed by a male and female, but I understand that you wanted to include your friend. BUT, I propose that if you were to sing another song with your friend have it be a song where it isn't as obvious that you or your friend is indeed singing a female role. Example a song where your friend doesn't refer to you as Princess.(:

I hope I said something helpful. Alot of people just say "this sux" and expect you to be awesome next time without telling you why they thought it sucked and how to make your audio better. If this wasn't the advice you were looking for I'm sure you'll figure something out. :D

Author's Response:

i appreciate your comments and it will all be taken into account for the second trial. and the reason it sounded "trigger happy" was because we were partially out of pitch, so it corrected it more than we wantd. We plan to compose our version of the song as background music. We just did this recording to see what would happen, for fun. It wasnt meant to be serious. and i agree, i hate when people vote zeros on this and then dont even comment on it so it can be fixed. I dont mind the low score, this wasnt meant to sound good at all. Thank you much for your comments. by the way, garageband was only used for the recording. Auto-tune was used as the pitch correction, so we couldnt edit how much it changed the pitch.
